The Oceanside Watershed Protection Program is dedicated to sustaining and improving water quality in Oceanside rivers, creeks, lagoons, sloughs and the Pacific Ocean. Studies have shown that materials such as litter, fertilizers, pesticides, and bacteria are causing water pollution. These materials can travel down the storm drain system from water runoff and illegal dumping.
Over irrigation is a violation of City Ordinance and State Law.
Watershed Protection Program and Code Enforcement Staff actively investigate reports of landscape irrigation runoff, illegal dumping, and other storm drain pollution concerns. Residents and businesses are encouraged to report any incidents of stormwater pollution at once to help protect water quality and public health in Oceanside. There are several ways to report a storm water incident:

This hotline is answered Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and provides a voice mail message for 24-hour public access in both English and Spanish.
